# Connect n8n to Tesselith

> Give an n8n AI Agent Tesselith's tools with the MCP Client Tool node and automate social scheduling in your workflows.

Canonical: https://tesselith.com/ai-agents/n8n

**Before you start:** You need n8n with the AI Agent and MCP Client Tool nodes, a Tesselith API key and a Tesselith workspace on Pro, Team or Agency (every new workspace starts with a 14-day Pro trial) with at least one channel connected. Update n8n if your MCP Client Tool only shows an SSE Endpoint field.

## Quick setup

```text
MCP Endpoint URL:  https://api.tesselith.com/mcp
Server Transport:  HTTP Streamable
Authentication:    Bearer Auth
Credential:        your Tesselith API key (tsl_live_…)
```

## Step by step

### 1. Create a Bearer Auth credential

In Tesselith, open Settings → Developers, create an API key and tick only the scopes the agent needs. Keys start with tsl_live_ and are shown once, so store it in your password manager or a secret store. In n8n, create a Bearer Auth credential and paste the key.

### 2. Add the MCP Client Tool to an AI Agent

Add an AI Agent node, then attach MCP Client Tool under its Tools connection.

### 3. Configure the node

Set the endpoint, choose HTTP Streamable, set Authentication to Bearer Auth and select the credential. Under Tools to Include, pick Selected to expose only what the workflow needs.

### 4. Test the workflow

Open the node and check the tool list loads, then send a chat message such as "list my channels".

## Troubleshooting

- **Empty tool list:** Server Transport is set to SSE, or the URL is missing /mcp. Choose HTTP Streamable.
- **Only an SSE Endpoint field:** You're on an older node version. Update n8n.
- **Tool calls time out:** Raise Timeout under the node's Options.

## Questions people ask

### Can n8n use OAuth instead of an API key?

Newer n8n versions include an MCP OAuth2 credential. An API key with limited scopes is simpler for automated workflows.

### Does Tesselith also have a REST API for n8n?

Yes. Use the HTTP Request node with the /v1 API for fixed steps, and the MCP Client Tool when an AI Agent decides what to do.
