How to Schedule Facebook Posts on a Page (and Why Profiles Can't Be)

October 26, 2026 · 2 min read

Schedule Facebook Page posts with Meta Business Suite or a scheduler: setup, image and video limits, what profiles can't do, and how to keep a Page active.

You can schedule posts on a Facebook Page with Meta Business Suite, which is free, or with a third-party scheduler. You can't schedule posts on a personal profile through any outside tool, because Meta doesn't allow third-party publishing to profiles. If your brand is posting from a profile, the first step is creating a Page.

Key takeaways

  • Only Facebook Pages can be scheduled. Personal profiles can't, by Meta's rules.
  • Pages accept up to 10 images per post, or one video.
  • Text can run to 63,206 characters, but the part before 'See more' is what gets read.
  • Scheduling Facebook alongside Instagram from one calendar avoids double-posting the same visual.

Option 1: Meta Business Suite

In Meta Business Suite, choose Create post, select your Page (and Instagram, if you want both), write the post, then pick Schedule instead of Publish. It's free and reliable for Facebook and Instagram. The limit is that it covers only Meta's networks.

Option 2: Schedule Facebook with your other networks

If the same campaign also goes to YouTube, Threads, Bluesky or Telegram, scheduling everything from one place saves the copy-paste. In Tesselith, you connect your Facebook Pages with a standard Meta sign-in and choose which Pages to add. Posts sit on the shared calendar, and the composer lets the Facebook version be longer and more conversational than the Instagram one.

What works on a Facebook Page now

  • Native video over links. Posts that keep people on Facebook tend to outperform posts that send them away.
  • Questions and local relevance. Pages for local businesses do best when posts invite replies from a community.
  • Consistency over volume. A few posts a week, reliably, beats bursts followed by silence.
  • Reply to comments quickly. Early conversation extends a post's life in the feed.

Facebook and Instagram together

Most Pages share an audience with an Instagram account. Posting the identical image and caption to both at the same minute makes your most engaged followers see it twice. Stagger them by a day, or give each its own caption: shorter and visual-first for Instagram, more context and a question for Facebook. Our Instagram scheduling guide covers the Instagram side in detail.
