How to Schedule LinkedIn Posts on Desktop, Mobile and Company Pages (2026)

November 4, 2026 · 6 min read

Yes, LinkedIn has a free built-in scheduler. Steps for profiles, Company Pages and mobile, how to edit scheduled posts, what can't be scheduled, and fixes.

Yes, you can schedule posts on LinkedIn, for free, without any extra tool. Start a post, click the clock icon next to the Post button, choose a date and time, click Next, then Schedule. It works on desktop and in the mobile app, for personal profiles and for Company Pages, up to three months ahead.

Key takeaways

  • LinkedIn's built-in scheduler is free on every account, with no Premium required.
  • Personal profiles can schedule from about 10 minutes to 3 months ahead; Company Pages from 1 hour to 3 months.
  • Find, edit, reschedule or delete scheduled posts under clock icon → View all scheduled posts.
  • Events, job posts and reshares can't be scheduled; Company Pages also can't schedule polls or multi-image posts.
  • A third-party scheduler only earns its place when LinkedIn is one of several networks you post to.

How to schedule a LinkedIn post on desktop

  1. Click Start a post at the top of your LinkedIn feed.
  2. Write your post and add any images, video or a PDF document.
  3. Click the clock icon at the bottom right of the composer, next to Post.
  4. Pick a date and a time. The dropdown moves in 30-minute steps, but you can type an exact time.
  5. Click Next, check the preview, then click Schedule.

LinkedIn uses your device's time zone. If you're scheduling for an audience in another region, convert the time first, or the post will go out at the right hour in the wrong place.

How to schedule a LinkedIn post in the mobile app

  1. Tap Post in the bottom bar of the LinkedIn app.
  2. Write the post and attach your media.
  3. Tap the clock icon at the top right.
  4. Choose the date and time, tap Next, then Schedule.

How to schedule posts on a LinkedIn Company Page

Page scheduling works the same way, but you need to be a super admin or content admin of the Page. Members with other roles won't see the clock icon.

  1. Open your Page's admin view.
  2. Click Start a post (on mobile: Dashboard → Page posts → Post).
  3. Write the post, then click the clock icon.
  4. Pick a time at least one hour away, click Next, then Schedule.

Every admin on the Page can see, edit and reschedule posts any other admin has scheduled. A scheduled Page post can't be promoted in Campaign Manager until it's live.

How to find, edit or delete scheduled LinkedIn posts

Click Start a post, then the clock icon, then View all scheduled posts (on mobile: Post → clock → View all). Open the More menu on any post to edit the text, change the time, or delete it. Page admins also get Post now to publish straight away.

Newsletter articles have their own scheduler in the article editor's Publish flow, which only exists on desktop. If an option you expect isn't in the scheduling menu, LinkedIn hasn't enabled it for that post type.

LinkedIn post limits worth knowing

WhatLimit
Post text3,000 characters
Visible before 'see more'About 210 characters
How far aheadUp to 3 months
Shortest lead time~10 minutes (profile), 1 hour (Page)

The first 210 characters do most of the work. Most people never tap 'see more', so put the hook there. Our character counter shows exactly where LinkedIn will cut your post off.

Time zones and timing rules

  • LinkedIn schedules in your device's time zone. Check your computer or phone clock before picking a time for an audience elsewhere.
  • Profile posts need roughly 10 minutes of lead time; Page posts need 1 hour.
  • Nothing can be scheduled more than 3 months ahead.
  • Posts scheduled with a third-party tool don't appear in LinkedIn's own scheduled list, and LinkedIn's don't appear in the tool.

When is the best time to schedule LinkedIn posts?

LinkedIn is a workday network: Tuesday to Thursday, late morning to late afternoon in your audience's time zone is the safest window, and weekends are quiet. The big studies disagree on the exact hour, so we compared them day by day in the best time to post on LinkedIn.

When a LinkedIn scheduling tool is worth it

If LinkedIn is the only place you post, the native scheduler is enough. A third-party scheduler is worth it when:

  • You post the same campaign to several networks. One calendar beats rewriting the post in five tabs.
  • Someone has to approve posts first. LinkedIn has no approval step; a client or manager can't sign off before it goes live.
  • You manage a founder profile and a Company Page. Planning both on one calendar keeps them from posting the same thing the same morning.
  • You want to queue posts into regular slots instead of picking a time for each one.

Tesselith already schedules Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon and Telegram from one calendar, with client approvals included. LinkedIn support is coming soon: profiles and Company Pages, including document posts. Join the LinkedIn waitlist and we'll email you the day it opens.
