How to connect Cursor to Tesselith
Add Tesselith to Cursor's mcp.json and let Cursor's agent draft and schedule social posts while you code. Cursor talks to Tesselith’s MCP server, so it can draft, queue and schedule posts on every channel you’ve connected. Keep a human in the loop: publishing now and deleting always ask for your confirmation.
What do I need before connecting?
You need a recent version of Cursor and a Tesselith workspace on Pro, Team or Agency (every new workspace starts with a 14-day Pro trial) with at least one channel connected.
1 · Connect · a few minutes
Run this
Use ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project, or .cursor/mcp.json for one repo.
2 · Ask · live in Tesselith
Ask Cursor to post for you
Also try:
- “List my Tesselith channels.”
- “Draft a changelog post from the last five commits.”
- “What's in my queue for next week?”
The setup at a glance
- Add Tesselith to mcp.json
- Enable it and sign in
- Check the tools
- Ask the agent
One connection, every channel
Connect your accounts in Tesselith once. From then on Cursor can plan and schedule for any of them, and Tesselith publishes at the time you set, even after the conversation ends.
How do I connect Cursor to Tesselith, step by step?
1. Add Tesselith to mcp.json
Create or open ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (this project) and add the server. Leave out headers to sign in with your Tesselith account.
2. Enable it and sign in
Open Cursor's MCP settings (Customize, or Settings → Tools & MCP on older versions), find tesselith and enable it. Cursor opens your browser to sign in. A Tesselith window opens. Sign in, pick the workspace, untick anything you don't want the agent to do, and click Allow access.
3. Check the tools
The server should show as enabled with its tools listed. If not, open Output (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+U) and choose MCP Logs.
4. Ask the agent
In the agent chat, ask Cursor to list your Tesselith channels, then to draft a post from the file you're working on.
Can I use an API key instead of signing in?
To skip the browser sign-in, reference a key from your environment with ${env:…}. In Tesselith, open Settings → Developers, create an API key and tick only the scopes the agent needs. Keys start with tsl_live_ and are shown once, so store it in your password manager or a secret store. Start Cursor from a shell where the variable is exported.
What can Cursor do in Tesselith?
The server at https://api.tesselith.com/mcp exposes these tools. Cursor only gets the permissions you approve, and never more than your own role.
Why is Cursor not working with Tesselith?
Almost every failure is one of these. Tesselith returns a readable error, so asking Cursor“what went wrong?” usually points at the right row.
