How to connect Hermes Agent to Tesselith
Add Tesselith to Hermes Agent's config and let your self-hosted agent schedule social posts from the terminal, Telegram or Discord. Hermes Agent talks to Tesselith’s MCP server, so it can draft, queue and schedule posts on every channel you’ve connected. Keep a human in the loop: publishing now and deleting always ask for your confirmation.
What do I need before connecting?
You need Hermes Agent running on your machine or server and a Tesselith workspace on Pro, Team or Agency (every new workspace starts with a 14-day Pro trial) with at least one channel connected.
1 · Connect · a few minutes
Run this
Then run hermes mcp login tesselith, and /reload-mcp in a running session.
2 · Ask · live in Tesselith
Ask Hermes Agent to post for you
Also try:
- “List my Tesselith channels.”
- “What's queued for Mastodon this week?”
- “Draft a week of posts from this RSS feed's latest items.”
The setup at a glance
- Add Tesselith to config.yaml
- Reload and test
- Ask from anywhere
One connection, every channel
Connect your accounts in Tesselith once. From then on Hermes Agent can plan and schedule for any of them, and Tesselith publishes at the time you set, even after the conversation ends.
How do I connect Hermes Agent to Tesselith, step by step?
1. Add Tesselith to config.yaml
Add the entry under mcp_servers in ~/.hermes/config.yaml.
2. Sign in
Run hermes mcp login tesselith. A Tesselith window opens. Sign in, pick the workspace, untick anything you don't want the agent to do, and click Allow access. On a headless server, add --flow device to sign in from another device.
3. Reload and test
Run /reload-mcp in your session (or restart Hermes), then hermes mcp test tesselith to see what the server answered.
4. Ask from anywhere
Ask Hermes to list your Tesselith channels. If you use Hermes' gateway, you can ask from Telegram or Discord too, and Tesselith publishes at the scheduled time even after the session ends.
Can I use an API key instead of signing in?
For background jobs that can't open a browser, use a key. In Tesselith, open Settings → Developers, create an API key and tick only the scopes the agent needs. Keys start with tsl_live_ and are shown once, so store it in your password manager or a secret store.
What can Hermes Agent do in Tesselith?
The server at https://api.tesselith.com/mcp exposes these tools. Hermes Agent only gets the permissions you approve, and never more than your own role.
Why is Hermes Agent not working with Tesselith?
Almost every failure is one of these. Tesselith returns a readable error, so asking Hermes Agent“what went wrong?” usually points at the right row.
