How to connect VS Code (GitHub Copilot) to Tesselith
Add Tesselith to VS Code and let GitHub Copilot's agent mode draft and schedule social posts. VS Code (GitHub Copilot) talks to Tesselith’s MCP server, so it can draft, queue and schedule posts on every channel you’ve connected. Keep a human in the loop: publishing now and deleting always ask for your confirmation.
What do I need before connecting?
You need VS Code with GitHub Copilot (agent mode) and a Tesselith workspace on Pro, Team or Agency (every new workspace starts with a 14-day Pro trial) with at least one channel connected. In company accounts, your GitHub organization must allow MCP servers.
1 · Connect · a few minutes
Run this
Or run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, choose HTTP and paste the URL.
2 · Ask · live in Tesselith
Ask VS Code (GitHub Copilot) to post for you
Also try:
- “Queue that draft for the next free slot.”
- “Show the Tesselith queue for Threads.”
- “List my channels and which need reconnecting.”
The setup at a glance
- Run MCP: Add Server
- Trust the server and sign in
- Switch Copilot Chat to Agent mode
- Ask Copilot
One connection, every channel
Connect your accounts in Tesselith once. From then on VS Code (GitHub Copilot) can plan and schedule for any of them, and Tesselith publishes at the time you set, even after the conversation ends.
How do I connect VS Code (GitHub Copilot) to Tesselith, step by step?
1. Run MCP: Add Server
Open the Command Palette (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+P), run MCP: Add Server, choose HTTP, paste the URL, name it tesselith and choose whether to save it for your user or this workspace.
2. Trust the server and sign in
Accept VS Code's trust prompt. On first use it opens your browser to sign in. A Tesselith window opens. Sign in, pick the workspace, untick anything you don't want the agent to do, and click Allow access.
3. Switch Copilot Chat to Agent mode
Open Copilot Chat, pick Agent mode and open the tools picker. The Tesselith tools should be listed and ticked.
4. Ask Copilot
Ask it to list your Tesselith channels, then to draft a post. Copilot asks before running each tool.
Can I use an API key instead of signing in?
VS Code can prompt for a key once and store it securely with an input. In Tesselith, open Settings → Developers, create an API key and tick only the scopes the agent needs. Keys start with tsl_live_ and are shown once, so store it in your password manager or a secret store.
What can VS Code (GitHub Copilot) do in Tesselith?
The server at https://api.tesselith.com/mcp exposes these tools. VS Code (GitHub Copilot) only gets the permissions you approve, and never more than your own role.
Why is VS Code (GitHub Copilot) not working with Tesselith?
Almost every failure is one of these. Tesselith returns a readable error, so asking VS Code (GitHub Copilot)“what went wrong?” usually points at the right row.
