How to connect Windsurf to Tesselith
Add Tesselith to Windsurf's Cascade and draft and schedule social posts from your editor. Windsurf talks to Tesselith’s MCP server, so it can draft, queue and schedule posts on every channel you’ve connected. Keep a human in the loop: publishing now and deleting always ask for your confirmation.
What do I need before connecting?
You need Windsurf and a Tesselith workspace on Pro, Team or Agency (every new workspace starts with a 14-day Pro trial) with at least one channel connected. On Teams and Enterprise, an admin must enable remote MCP servers first.
1 · Connect · a few minutes
Run this
Newer builds may show the config path in Cascade's MCP panel. Edit the file that panel opens.
2 · Ask · live in Tesselith
Ask Windsurf to post for you
Also try:
- “List my Tesselith channels.”
- “What's scheduled this week?”
- “Draft three variations of this announcement.”
The setup at a glance
- Open Cascade's MCP settings
- Add Tesselith and refresh
- Authenticate
- Ask Cascade
One connection, every channel
Connect your accounts in Tesselith once. From then on Windsurf can plan and schedule for any of them, and Tesselith publishes at the time you set, even after the conversation ends.
How do I connect Windsurf to Tesselith, step by step?
1. Open Cascade's MCP settings
In the Cascade panel, open MCPs and choose to edit the raw config. Remote servers use serverUrl.
2. Add Tesselith and refresh
Paste the entry above, save, and click the refresh icon in the MCP list.
3. Authenticate
The server shows Needs authentication. Click Authenticate. A Tesselith window opens. Sign in, pick the workspace, untick anything you don't want the agent to do, and click Allow access.
4. Ask Cascade
Ask Cascade to list your Tesselith channels to confirm, then to draft a post.
Can I use an API key instead of signing in?
To use a key instead of signing in, add a header. In Tesselith, open Settings → Developers, create an API key and tick only the scopes the agent needs. Keys start with tsl_live_ and are shown once, so store it in your password manager or a secret store. Restart Windsurf after setting the variable.
What can Windsurf do in Tesselith?
The server at https://api.tesselith.com/mcp exposes these tools. Windsurf only gets the permissions you approve, and never more than your own role.
Why is Windsurf not working with Tesselith?
Almost every failure is one of these. Tesselith returns a readable error, so asking Windsurf“what went wrong?” usually points at the right row.
